Question:

What does a pre-professional program in college mean?

My plan was to major in pre-law. However, some colleges offer a pre-professional program in pre-law. Is that the same thing as a major in pre-law? If I were to pick a pre-professional program would that mean I would still need to major in something else?

Thank you for your time!

  1. Pre-professional just means that they are preparing you for a specific career.  Pre-law, just like Pre-med, is not a major.  It's a set of courses that you shoudl take if you plan on taking the exam and entering Law school, or medical school, after you graduate.  You could major in Vocal Performance and be pre-law at the same time if you wanted.  Although that would be pretty hard and most students who are pre-law will major in something like government or economics.
