  1. he or she get buggered by the supervisores

  2. Whatever they're told to do.

  3. service clerk

  4. You just have to answer questions about what you have in stock, help people find things, assist elderly people in reaching things and carrying things out to the car.

Fairly basic stuff- but you make shopping a lot easier for a lot of people

  5. Deal with pissed off customers.

Have to be nice to people even though most people that come to you aren't.

Sell things that are at the service desk.

    Give returns.

  6. A service cleark at a grocery store may handle a variety of tasks like selling postage stamps, cashing checks, and providing refunds. Most importantly, this clerk must listen to customer complaints in the interest of satisfying the customer without "giving away the store".

Customers that approach the customer service desk sometimes just need a little help, but often they are trying to squeeze profits from the store by making false claims about merchadise. They may walk out of the store with a gallon of milk, drop it in the parking lot, and then claim the bottle was leaking before they left the store. The best service clerks will be able to see through customer misrepresentations and politely tell that customer no, without making the customer angry.

To me, it sounds like a miserable job, but I know people who have done the job for 30 years.

  7. suck up to the boss, just like any other job
