  1. yes get the spinning combo you can catch bigger fish than baitcaster ussually and its not that difficult to learn

  2. Yes!, its very easy to use and cast with, plus they have a better drag system and can cast allot further than a spincast reel, once you have learned to use a spinning reel you can move onto a baitcast reel.

  3. A spinning reel is a step up from the spincast reels. If fishing is just a causal hobby that you don't do very often but enjoy it, then you can catch any of those fish you list with a Zebco 404 spincast reel combo.  There's no need to buy an expensive rod and reel unless fishing is a serious hobby.

On the other hand, spinning reels are really not that hard to use.  After 3-5 practice casts, most people can use a spinning reel with ease.  If you think fishing may become a serious hobby, I'd recommend the Shimano Sedona 2500Fb or similar spinning reel with an American Rodsmith rod, like the Genesis or similar.

    Tight lines

  4. A spinning reel will enable you to cast farther, and use lighter lines that a spincast reel will.    It is a superior reel in every way once you learn to use it.   You don't see tournament fishermen using spincast reels.
