  1. I am a teacher and I always wanted to be one and I don't regret becoming one.

Teachers.... teach. We grade, make lesson plans, lecture, give tests and assignments, etc...

It's a really hard job - you need talent to be a teacher, but people abuse it and think it

s so simple to just stand in front of the class and talk to them.

Ha!!! as if... 70% of people are like that.

A real teacher is energetic, etc etc etc... inspiration - gets the class going!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. Teachers need a B.A. degree at the least, and a valid teaching credential. Professors need a min. of a M.A. degree in their discipline.

  2. its not easy to be a teacher it requires ur total dedication to the job.as the child is spending 4to5 hrs with u & u are responsible of shaping him to be agood person a good citizen & many more aspects to this profession

  3. im a kid and me and me and friends get on my teachers nerves sometimes so thats a challenges and sometimes we wont shut up  and most teachers need a master or bachalor in watever you wana teach s.s math whatever

  4. Challenges:

Lack of support by parents, school board and the administration.

Practice of simply moving kids through the system instead of actually teaching them.

Teaching to tests instead of actual life lessons.

Lack of funding and proper supplies.

Salary. Do you need to get a second job at nights or during the summer. How will a 2nd or 3rd job affect your family life?

Choosing another career or not. Do you keep the tenure which was offered to you, or take a chance and move on?

  5. As a teacher, you are required to understand and be well versed in your subject area. For a general education teacher in the elementary school, this means all areas. Each state has specific grade level expectations that teachers are expected to know and teach to. Districts adopt curriculum, sometimes multiple sets for different subjects (like reading) and teachers take that curriculum and implement it to meet the specific needs of the students being taught. In a classroom, the specific needs of students vary greatly -- from developmentally delayed to talented and gifted. It is the expectation that the teacher will meet these individual needs despite having upwards of 30 children in a classroom.

In addition to teaching the curriculum, teachers are required to assess students informally and formally  and provide this information to parents in report cards. Report Cards generally take 1 hour to complete per student, per trimester. This estimate of time does not include the amount of class time that is spent assessing the curriculum.

Teachers are also expected to maintain open communication with parents. In the age of emails, teachers answer more and more information is demanded. Some parents require more attention than others.

Teachers are also required to attend Individualized Education Plan meetings for students with disabilities outside of the regular contracted teaching time. Teachers also must attend staff meetings and conferences.

Teachers also deal with student problems, whether they are personal issues a child is dealing with or management difficulties.

The challenges a person faces as a teacher is time management. Trying to fit in math, science, reading, writing, social studies, music, PE, library, lunch, and recess into a 7 hour school day is often a daunting task. This is compounded by the growing amount of work necessary outside of the school day. Some states now require teachers to pay for a Master's Degree, despite low salaries.

    Other duties of a teacher:

    Putting on bandaids.

    Singing Happy Birthday.

    Giving hugs.

    Sharpening brand new pencils.

Stapling student work to the bulletin board.

    Calling home to check in.

    Attending T-Ball games.

Serving ice cream at the PTSA sock hop.

It's the best job I've ever had and I sleep soundly every night knowing my job means something.
