  1. bacon eggs mushrooms black pudding baked beans or tomatoes

    and toast

  2. a good old English breakfast should have sausages, baked beans, fried egg, fried bread, hash browns, mushrooms, and bacon. definitely not healthy, but its delicious!

  3. Traditional would be along the lines of FRIED egg, sausage, bread, mushrooms, tomato's and bacon, possibly served with beans.

Modern and (slightly) healthier version would probably be something like Toast with GRILLED sausage, bacon, mushrooms and tomato, with poached eggs and served with beans.

The traditional would be cooked with lard and would probably make most people puke, but the modern version is actually quite tasty and OK if you only have it for special occasions.

  4. A real "full English" is egg, bacon, sausage, black pudding, fried bread, tomatoes, mushrooms and baked beans.

It does NOT have 'hash browns' - they are American and nobody here would have heard of them were it not for McD's.

Anything containing things like fried potatoes or lamb chops comes under the 'mixed grill' category and is not breakfast food.

The above meal, eaten once a week should do you now harm at all, but taken on a daily basis would normally result in weight gain - and all that is associated with it - so the "healthy" option would be to have a cereal (no milk - just some rubbishy yogurt!) or a slice of dry toast.

    I know which I'd rather have... ! ! !

Note that I have not mentioned porridge - you asked for English !

  5. Full english - http://www.wyvernhotel.com/images/full_e...

Eggs, bacon, tomatoes, sausage(s), beans, toast

As for modern english, it can range. Could just be cereal or toast.

No, the full english isn't healthy, but it's up to you.

    It's tasty:D

  6. Eggs, (scrambled, fried, poached, depends what you fancy), bacon, tomatoes, sausages, beans, mushrooms, black pudding and fried bread, most of the ingredients are fried. Coffee, tea or orange juice is usually served alongside this, modern or traditional.

A modern English breakfast may be a full English with a few alterations such as hash browns. Or cereal with milk, or toast sometimes even croissants, it depends on the people really.

I wouldn't say a full English is particularly healthy, all the fried stuff and that.

  7. What the guys above said. It's all fried in oil though which is definitely unhealthy but is delicious and hearty. Once a week as a treat I think is OK.

  8. Fried egg, fried bacon, fried sausage, fried bread, mushrooms, (fried!), baked beans, black pudding (fried!), fried tomato.  Tea or coffee. Orange juice.  Usually cereal with milk to start and endless toast with butter and/or jam/maramalaide.  Everything fried, apart from the egg, can be grilled.  My idea of heaven.  Yum!

  9. a) Fried slice, baked beans, one bacon, one sausage, fried mushrooms, one fried egg and a tomato. Tea or coffee.

    b) Toast with butter, one boiled egg, one bacon and a tomato. Tea or coffee.

Science have inidcated that processed food such as bacon and sausage, if eaten everyday, could cause colon cancer.  Not good.  Porridge oats is a good alternative.

  10. i think traditional full english breakfast is something like bacon, eggs, beans, tomatoes, toast and coffee/tea. Lots of fried stuff.

  11. Sausage, egg, bacon beans, mushrooms. Two toast and cup of tea

  12. Bacon, egg, tomato. sausage, baked beans, fried bread and toast with marmalade. Mushrooms are sometimes offered if available and don't forget the mug of English tea. This can be preceded by cereal or grapefruit. It gives power and is healthy if you are doing a physically demanding job. Naturally there are healthier alternatives but you did, initialy, ask for the traditional English breakfast. Hash browns are an American addition.

  13. Porridge or fruit or juice first, absolutely essential. Some people eat cereal but there's no accounting for taste.

Then sausages, fried egg, fried bread, fried tomatoes mushrooms, bacon and if you want it black pudding and fried boiled potatoes. And toast. Baked beans and hash browns are American additions so leave them out but in Scotland you might have potato pancakes.

    Then toast and marmalade.

The healthy option is to grill everything but the egg and poach that, to cut down on the fat, and leave out the fried bread altogether.

Builders' tea to drink of course.

  14. Traditional is like this, depending on what you like usually a combination of these

    fried or scrambled egg

    bacon

    baked beans

    cooked tomatoes

    toast and jam

    ketchup or HP brown sauce

    black pudding

    mushrooms

    sausage

and finallly a cuppa (tea that is)!

And if its healthy it's not an English Brekky!

    Modern would be like this

Toast with marmalade or jam, nutella, honey anything really

    Cereal

    yoghurt and fruit

toasties, like with cheese and ham

  15. sausage

    bacon

    blackpudding

    beans

    tomatoes

    hash brown

    mushrooms

    eggs

potato - cut and fried in cubes or as chips

    toast

    tea

  16. Cup of tea and a ****.
