  1. It is really going to depend on the family and the chosen method of teaching.  Here is some info on homeschool schedules:

  2. Keystone National High School: my high school

    1)I wake up whenever

    2)I eat Breakfeast whenever

    3)I do school whenever

    4)then ZZZzzzzZZZ

  3. It really depends upon the parents who choose how to educate their kids. My mom ordered books from a A Beka Book which is a Christian publishing company with a really good curriculum. It's used at Pensacola Christian Academy, but other Christian schools use some of its books too. Basically, it has a lesson plan and all that, and my mom just read off it and taught me. She never got a degree in teaching or whatever; she just taught what she had. And I turned out alright.

I was homeschooled from kindergarten up till 8th grade. I'm a sophomore now. :)

    My homeschooled days actually varied.

One year, my day would look like this: I would get up at 8am, brush teeth, eat breakfast, change clothes, start at 8:30. I did each subject, maybe did homework after I finished a "class" (technically, everything I did WAS homework, haha), took a break whenever, ate something if I was hungry, ate lunch when I felt like it, never rushed to class, and I finished my day around 2pm.

One year, I started at 10 and ended at 4.

Other times I started at 9 and ended at 3.

That's just my story, but  you'll have to ask a lot of people to get a good view on what a homeschooled day is like. Basically, it's really flexible. You're at HOME. What else can you do? haha

  4. Depends on the homeschooler... my daughter started taking community college courses at 15, does a lot of creative writing, volunteers at the library and in our church and is in the chior, assists teachers in our co-op and gets involved in music and theater classes and programs when she gets a chance. She's also looking for her first job and preparing for the SATs.

  5. There isn't one -- because everyone tailors their day to their child, well ok MOST homeschoolers anyhow.

    Ours looks something like this:

    up

chores (general housekeeping once a week is deeper, animals, etc)

school (depends on the day but generally Bible, Math, vocabulary, creative writing, spelling, history, assigned reading, etc)

    lunch

    chores

activites (to include 4-H projects, musical instruments, sewing, babysitting, library visits, etc)

We include everything we do basically in school -- presently we are using:

       The Bible

       Sonlight

Starting Points by David quine (worldviews)

Key to series for Math (algebra review and Geometry)

Whatever Happened to Penny Candy (economics)

Story Starters and Learn to Write the Novel Way

Money Matters for Teens (real math!)

4-H books (lots of horse stuff, sewing, archery)

       Botany curriculum

       Piano and Violin lessons

       etc....

are involved in 4-H, AWANA, Youth Group, Protestant Women of the Chapel, The Fashion Museum here (modeling), baby sitting, etc.....
