  3. traditional or "old skool" ska is a rhythm guitar, a bass player, drums, and a horn section - trumpet, trombone, and sax. Keys usually are in the mix as well.

    3rd wave or "punk Ska" will have to add another guitarist to add distortion, crunch, or lead.
