  1. the wedding is celebrated in two parts : the contract part at home or in a mosque or church , and the party .

99 % of the families mix .they celebrate in a place that they can afford .

if they are poor , at home.

if they can hire a hall in a club , etc , they do so.

if they are rich they hire a hall in a hotel or a boat .

they bring a DJ and dance to his music.

if they have money , they bring a singer and/or a dancer .

all the families sit together . the women wear or dont wear the hijab or the niqaab .

dinner is served according to the budget .

even in hotels , they show you 3 kinds of dinner .

our weddings are a good opportunity to show off !

hotels offer a room to the bride and another to the groom to get dressed .

after the party , the couple go to the bride's room to spend the night there .

  2. nowadays there are different themes in weddings. it differs according to social background, and religious values.

1- most common: both men and women are in the same hall, and young men and women share the stage with the groom and the bride and start dancing "creazy", while the DJ keep playing songs according to their request, and there is usually an open-poffet lunch.

2- some do similar to the above but they invite a known singer(paid of course), or a belly dancer sometimes

3- some do as no 1 but they skip the dancing part, just slow dancing and then dinner, as the dancing part, some see it inappropriate religiouslly, and some view dancing in weddings is inappropriate to their social class.

4- some do separate females from males, each in different hall. they do it for religious reasons as they see mixing genders is not appropriate

5- some do a wedding party for girls only..!!!!!

also themes differ according to location..  some do it outdoor in an open air garden, some do it indoor in a hotel wedding hall, and some in a panoramic boat in the Nile...

before all of this, the religous ceremony of marriage it self is usally held inside the mosque (or the church) and wedding is usally in another day after that by few days.

it is noteworthy to mention that some is satisfied by the religous ceremony and dont do a following wedding festival to save its cost.

  3. no they are not separated. rarely some families have this.

the modern wedding usually starts in the mosque then the after party with all family and friends. songs and dancing and all that. nice dinner...
