What does about:blank mean?

It always pops up when i get on internet explorer.

It is just a page that is nothing. Some people prefer to use it as their homepage so that there will not be anything that will slow their browser down immediately after starting it. It sometimes helps if you set it as your homepage as if a website lags you computer down, you can just press the home button to get rid of it.

It's just the page which shows when you haven't otherwize directed the browser. To get rid of this, make a page your Homepage.
