  1. Academia refers to the academics institution, or education and school more simply put. I would say "I am fascinated with learning new things, love studying and am planning on pursuing higher degrees in my field of study."

That's if you're answering a question on a college app or interview question. If it's some coffeehouse tool say, "I only read when I get stoned."

  2. Academia means - relating to, or characteristic of a school, especially one of higher learning.

Relating to studies that are liberal or classical rather than technical or vocational.

You might say:  My interests are in the field sociology & psychology. (You would fill in the fields of higher learning that you are interested in.  It's not necessary that you use the word "academia" in your response.)
