Question:

What does adjusting "MID" and "SLA" on a car stereo do??

I put in a new deck that never had a manual...I also put in 2 rear speakers and 2 subs, if that will help in any way

  1. I think it is some sort of boost..when i turn my sla up i can hear a big sound difference it is like turning up the volume basically.


  2. Not sure what the "MID" adjustment does.  I can take a guess ... probably boosts the midrange frequencies.

    "SLA" is a Source Level Adjustment.  You can adjust each of the various sources available from a (-)# to a (+)#.  For instance, if AM radio comes in weak, you can boost the SLA to compensate.  If your subs overpower your system, you can also use the SLA adjustment to raise the mids/highs in your speakers without the sub level adjusting.

  3. sla just adjusts the volume between the cd and the radio...so you can make their respective volumes equal to each other...so when you eject the cd and the radio comes on it isn't blasting...the mid sounds like a pioneer feature....instead of just having bass and treble, there is an in between setting "mid"
