What does afw mean?

i just started work at an insurance place but im not sure what does AFW mean?

AfW means "AMS for Windows".  It is just the name of the agency management system (where all of the policy information is on your computer).  It was just AMS until about 11 or so years ago when they upgraded to be compatible with Windows.  It includes the accounting system.  AMS is a company that provides agency software.  They also own what used to be SetWrite (internet rating system - I think it is now called Silverplume rating), Silverplume (all the ISO policy forms, auto symbols, etc).  They bought up several other agency management systems over the years to try to be the only one out there.
