  1. It actually depresses the higher brain functions alleviating our inhibitions and the control and repression that society keeps us under, this feels great.  In low doses it is actually v. good for most of the bodies systems but as you go above moderation it becomes toxic.  Just as drinking 5 gallons of water or 100 cups of coffee would kill you more than a fifth of 40% abv drunk quickly could do the same.

  2. it is poison or toxic.

  3. Alcohol doesn't make you high, it's a depressant.

  4. Alcohol is a chemical compound. When it mixes with the water that composes your body hydrogen atoms are cleaved off the ethyl alcohol molecule. You become high because of the high amount of extra H+ in your body thins your blood among other things including receptors in your brain (More so in regular drinkers). You liver cycles this out along with the left of ethanol backbone (Forgot the name of it). If you have too much alcohol, your liver cannot deal with the great amount that is in your blood and can scar, (Cirrhosis = scaring of the liver) This overload of H+ also causes inflammation of tissues including your brain, this toxic level also allows Lactic acid to build in your muscles. This is how you get the aches and pain and your hangover in the morning. It is also very irritating to your stomach which is why your tummy usually hurts the next day.

to lessen the effects of this simply make sure that the level of water in your body is greater than the level of H+. to put it simply, drink more water when you drink alcohol and make sure you have at least one full glass of water before you go to sleep.

To lean more about the chemical working of how you body deals with alcohol, take an organic chemistry class, we did an entire unit on it :D

  5. So alcohol is type of toxin in the human body and It has other stuff to b/c that's how people get addicted to it.

Now your brain has receptors that let out a happy feeling when your happy like when some people run it soothes them but with alcohol it speeds it up and makes it release more which gives you a high after your body is used to the usual amount you need more to make the same effect that 's called tolerance that's all i know form school

  6. It interferes with the connections in your nerves, opening the distance between the synapse slowing the nerve signals.

  7. alcohol has ethanol in it...kinda like the stuff in gas... but this is a poison to your body

  8. Alcohol has alcohol in it, specifically ethyl alcohol.

It acts as a depressant and anti-inhibitory.

It does this by affecting the uptake and release of something called GABA-4, a neurotransmitter.
