For an organisation, in the hierarchical sense an administration manager is a branch manager. In the branch he is in charge of the administration of the branch. The day to day business management of the branch. The staff and their work/welfare and to create and ensure that the branch office is the best place for staff to work. And a conducive and confortable place for customers to do business with.  In the branch he is the boss, in the organisation he reports to the CEO.

Administration Manager is supposed to be the next in line after CEO.

AM is responsible to carry out the office orders of CEO down the line and its implementation.

AM is expected to controll Staff, allot duties to staff, payment of wages & salaries if there in no Personal Manager involved.

AM is responsible for House keeping arrangements, Premises, formulate Budgets, implement expenses as per the Budget approved, may have discretionary powers to employ manpower, ensure that financial accounts are update,

returns filed with competent authorities, renew licence fees as may be applicable to the line of business undertaken, diarise all follow up matters including legal matters, ect., ect.

In a very large organisation under AM there will be jr.executives assigned with certain specific job sections who report to AM. In a small or a medium size org. AM undertakes all the responsibilities as defined above ofcourse with assistance of juniors.

AM reports to CEO or to the Board of Management and is an active member of management council. His recommendations are rarely ignored or overlooked.
