All of their belongings are in the front of my yard and I don't know what to do with it.

  1. There should be no reason for it to be put in your yard unless trash collection is on your side of the street and they actually pick up loose items.  Otherwise put it back on the right of way in front of landlords property

  2. Whatever you want, unless your state mandates a storage period in which the tenants can redeem their belongings.  If your state mandated storage, however, the sheriff or marshal usually arranges that, and redemption has to be done by paying all costs to the sheriff/marshal's office.

So, keep it, sell it, put it in the trash, give it to Salvation Army or charity.  If there is quite a bit of usable household stuff, Salvation Army or Goodwill may pick it up.  Some landlords do a hurried Yard Sale to raise whatever they can toward what the tenant owes.

  3. thats so sad .....  maybe they will come and get it....  their whole life belongings tossed in a pile like so much rubbish

I do hope some good comes out of it,,,

  4. Put a big sign that says "FREE" out front and watch it disappear.

  5. I'd call the owner and ask him to put the junk in front of his own property and then call the sheriff and find out just what rights you have and if necessary make a complaint.  Sorry that the landlord was forced to evict but it's not right to pile it up in front of you.  You don't own it so you don't have the right to it or the right to arrange for a pick up.  Be careful what you do until you find out what  your rights are.  There is also the health department that will take complaints about piled up junk because it is creating an environment for rats, mice and filth.

  6. I'd call the owners first and tell them their stuff is out per the sherriff (they may not be aware of it, why not tell them to be nice)

Then if they don't get it, well... the trash men will remove it or like another poster said, put a "free" sign next to it.

  7. Call the sheriffs office & see how long it is supposed to sit there. Ask what people do & you can call Salvation Army if it is good stuff & ask it they would pick it up but let them know so they get to it before it rains.
