  1. If you are talking about the ear, the auricle collects and directs sound waves to the auditory canal.

    In the human heart the right and left atria are also called auricles (older terms).  The right one receives blood from the body and pumps it to the right ventricle from which it is pumped through the lungs.  The left atrium (auricle) receives blood from the lungs and pumps it to the left ventricle which pumps it through the body.
