What does an Engineer Tech do in the Navy???

Okay so I heard this girl went to the Navy and was an Engineer Tech, Now an civilian she's a Engineer Specialist and making 95000 a year. So I wanted to know exactly what do they do, and is it a stressful job

  1. There is no such job as 'engineer tech' in th US Navy.  We have a bunch of different kinds of jobs that would be considered engineering jobs but none of them with that title.  The Navy is what you make of it.  It can be stressful but it is also tons of fun.  


  2. The "tech" tells you that she was enlisted.  A lot of military engineers fix engines that a civilian union wouldn't let you touch for 10 years.  So the military engineer field is a jump start.  $95,000 would be possible. /
