What does an IP Static ARP do? or what does ip static routes do?

im trying make my nat type low to my ps3 and i tryed opening ports and still doesnt work. what do those do?

  1. you would use a static route to force traffic out a different path other then your default gateway.  A home network typically only has one path out, so static routes are not needed, just  a gateway.
