    Visa required.

    Visa can be obtained on arrival, provided prior approval has

    been obtained.

    4. ON ARRIVAL: a visa can be obtained to holders of NORMAL passports, provided PRIOR APPROVAL HAS BEEN OBTAINED

       (minimum of 48 hours required) with the Director of

       Immigration, supported by a copy of the bio data and

       photo page of the applicant's passport. The application

       can be made by the visitor's host, business

       partner/sponsor or directly by fax: +233 21 258249; or by

       e-mail at: director@myzipnet.com

       Host/sponsor will require a copy of the fax/e-mail in

       order to pay for the visa.

    Fee: USD 100.-.

    Minors: if being under 16 years and accompanying/joining

    parents residing in Ghana: visa not required.

    Visitor must hold:

    - return/onward ticket and all documents required for next

      destination; or

    - a letter from an employer guaranteeing their repatriation.

    If not holding such, a deposit equal to return fare must be

    made to the Immigration Office.

    Non-compliance with entry regulations results in heavy fines

    (GHC 5,000,000.-).


  2. Hi,

    I'm a US citizen, I live in Accra, Ghana.  You must have a visa which you can get from either the Ghanaian Embassy in NYC or Washington, DC, or the Ghanaian Consulate (I know of one in Houston, TX).  You can download the forms online from the embassy websites.

    You also have to bear in mind that you must get a Yellow Fever immunization; it is the only travel medicine absolutely required, but you should consider taking preventative malaria medicine as well.
