What does an electrical engineer do?

Here are some things I am interested in, are these what electrical engineers create or make?

1. computer graphics cards

2 .cellphone motherboards

3. gps systems

4. design parts in laptops

5. make computer screens?

There are a lot of different engineering jobs.  You sound interested in design.  Yes.  Each of those items is something that an electrical engineer might design.

Knows this...An electrical engineer laid it all out on paper, before the building was built.

The entire electrical system.

And....there is no need for him to even enter the building.

No, that's computer engineering and yes electric engineering is related as well but this is mostly computer engineering. I am into the same things and I plan to take the Computer Engineering program at the University of Waterloo in Canada. Good luck!
