What does an under age cild need to visit puerto rico??

my friend invited my 14 year old girl to visit PR with her and im not sure what is needed...does she need a passport??a social security card??a birth certificate??or just need to be with a legal american citizen?please provide feedback so i can make sure your answer is correct.thanx :]

  1. I checked on AA website, and they recommend to call your local office.  So, don't guess, call the airline company for accurate information.


  2. I fly to Puerto rico 4 times a year and have been doing so for the last 14 years of my life. Regardless of whether she is flying alone or not she will have to have some kind of proof ( I hope you mean she is a U.S. citizen or resident) of your citizenship or residency. If you are a resident you should take her resident card with her picture on it of course. If she is a U.S. citizen she will need to simply provide some kind of Picture I.D. , I prefer a passport and I always take mine to Puerto Rico since I may sometimes have to connect through the Dominican republic or another area. So to say it all if you have a passport use it because it will be the best way and you will most certainly not run into any problems because what better way to show that you are american eith a passport.
