like the outdated ones? You know like ipod nano 2nd generation ect...

I was just thinking they should send outdated laptops to like africa so they can get an eduction, instead of letting them rot in a warehouse or something.

  1. I think they are taken apart and recycled. Not sure though!

  2. hello. good question, I'm pretty sure they recycle the parts, i also think they have a service that you can send your old apple goods to be recycled...if they dont then they darn should do.

  3. they take the computers and ipods apart, then they will often melt down components such as copper wiring and solder to reuse in other computers, ipods, or wire-less devices. the metal parts of an ipod are also melted down to use again. most electronic devices contain mercury which is a harmful metal if not treated properly.

some computers and ipods are left intact and shipped to apple stores for onsite repairs of other computers. the parts they can't use are then ether shipped to a recycling factory or disposed of in a way that is not harmful to the environment.
