  1. There are bacteria that feed off just about anything. Some have even been engineered to feed of oil in oil spills and plastic. Anything you see decomposing - plant or animal - bacteria are at work on. The live in the digestive tracts of anials and help those animals digest food by feeding on it and breaking it down to more simpler components.
