You can

a- chop it up and add it raw to salads, or use it alone

b- steam it with herbs and spices of choice

c- fry it with a little olive or sesame oil and herbs and spices of

    choice

d- fry it with beef/pork/chicken/tofu, etc.in olive or sesame oil

e- add it to soups

Bok Choy is delicious and good healthwise.An quick/easy receipe :

sweat some onions and garlic(without burning) in peanut oil(a drop)add washed and  coarsely chopped Bokchoy, undrained, as we need the water vapour ,cover and allow to simmer for a minute , do not overcook ,keep the bokchoy crunchy. Add any cooked meat and serve. OK with cold meats too(ham/salami) Add salt to taste

It's very tasty, in my opinion, possibly the tastiest green vegetable out there (second only to asparagus). It doesn't taste strong or bitter like cabbage and yet has lots of flavor.

its kind of like a mild cabbage/lettuce taste.   to cook it, slice it right down the middle and saute it with some butter until it wilts.  you still want it to be a little crunchy though!   it is good in stir frys.

In texture it is like celery but without the stringy things.  Taste is normal.  I like to chop it up for soups.  It lasts forever in the fridge.

I add it to Chinese/Japanese/Vietnamese noodle soup. It's also good stir-fried with oyster sauce.

Another good combination: bokchoy with oyster sauce and fried sliced tofu, accented with fermented black beans.

When I have a lot of bok choy, I shred the green leafy part and ue as substitute for spinach or kale in any recipe.

Bok Choy is just a type of cabbage. You can use it pretty much the same way--salads, boiled in soups, make it into kimchee, etc. It's a very common asian vegetable. In Tagalog, it's known as "petsay" or "pitsay."

Everything on a bok choy is ediable!

From the rich green leaves to the white stem! (thats my fav)

The taste is very mild and tastes like "cabbage"

HERE ARE SOME TIPS:

Best to buy:

Look for bok choy with firm stalks and leaves, not yellowing or wilted.

Cut & clean:

Chop off enough of the base of the bok choy plant before washing so that stalks can be cleaned individually. Rinse stalks and leaves under running water, using a vegetable brush if they are especially dirty at the base.

Stir fry it up:

Bok choy goes well with the flavors of soy sauce, hot peppers, and toasted sesame oil. The stalks can be eaten raw with dip or chopped and used in salads.

I love to stir fry my bok choy ...

All you need is garlic, salt, soysauce, or oyster sauce.

You have to steam it with boiled water and yes it is good.

You can cut it in half, and saute on the cut side in a little vegetable oil, when it begins to brown turn it over and sprinkle with a little soy sauce, marin, and pepper flakes.

Or use it in a stir fry.
