What does boo mean...really confused?

this girl keeps calling me boo and instead of saying wth does that mean i decided to ask here...

It means boyfriend or "baby."  I'm not really sure where it comes from.  At first, I thought it might come from the word "beau," which is an old-fashioned way to say boyfriend, but that seems awfully sophisticated.

(The girl above me is probably on to something with "boy."  I've never heard "boo" used to refer to a girl.  "Guh" is more common.)

Like saying sweetie.... For example: What's up boo (or sweetie, or sweetheart), etc... something along those lines.  It's a good thing... I like it when a guy calls me boo lol

boo as in she is trying to scare you or like the nick-name? the nickname means that she is into you.

boo is a nickname like baby etc.. Example "hey boo whats up or I love you boo."

It's a pet name, like baby, hunny, sweetie, babe etc.  She's most likely attracted to you in a romantic way.

i think the original idea was that it was short for boy. like my boo instead of my boy. but i think it's now being used for girls to somtimes just cus it sounds so cute! haha.
