I second all the answers already given just wanted to add that, It has to be applied the right way to do those things, Too much with look like a fake spray tan. lol. Choose your bronzer depending on your skin tone, the darker you are the deeper color you can use, If you dont want to buy bronzer, you can lightly sweep a gold shadow over your cheek bones with a big fluffy brush for the same effect, if you're pale a nice shimmery pale pink will do the trick.
