What does brown discharge mean?

So I just noticed some brown discharge in my underwear. What does that mean? I've never had this before. I'm supposed to be getting my period around the 23rd of the month. So is this normal?

it's just old blood. Could you possibly be pregnant? It could be implantation bleeding? If you don't know what that is, it's when the fertilized egg attaches itself to the wall of the uterus and happens about 6-12 days after conception. Only about 30% of women experience this when they get pregnant. If you had s*x around the time you were ovulating (14 days before your period-based on an average 28 day cycle, or about exactly half way through your cycle) it is possible that you could be pregnant, especially if it was only an tiny pit of discharge without your period to follow. It could also be nothing, please dont stress just cuz i mentioned this. But just to be safe if you don't get your period take a test!!!
