  1. This fault code appears in the odometer display. It's actually "no bus" as in no communication "bus" (a computer term for a data route). What it is saying is that the dashboard sub-computer is not communicating with the main computer (PCM) . Check the connectors to see if they are plugged in all the way. If they are, your PCM is probably bad. This is something you can't replace yourself because the new one must be programmed with the mileage and VIN and other info by MOPAR before it's installed. Be careful, because when the PCM fails, your (Dakota) will start to suddenly stall at the worst times (Freeway, Boat launch, stop light on a one lane road) and not restart until you disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and then reconnect.

  2. anytime you see this code or anything similar to it its usually not something that the home mechanic cant repair, its dealer repair and going in to it details a lot of work,no bus signal or anything similar to it is usually left up to a dealer to repair, the average person or mechanic doesn't not have the diagnostic tools needed to find it with and trying to repair it usually causes more problems, good luck.
