  1. Here you go:

    http://www.lesscars.org/carpooling.php

  2. it lessins the amount of cars therefore it lessens the amount of exaust from cars that goes in to the air... =] good luck

  3. If you car pool with 1 other person, you theoretically just halved your collective emissions and took one car off of the road.  If you car pool with 3 other people you just cut the emissions down by 75% and took 3 cars off of the road.

However, one car will be used a little bit more to either pick up the other people carpooling or if you meet at a common meeting place, the other drivers are presumably also driving to that meeting spot so emissions are not cut cut that drastically.  But, it still removes cars from the commuting routes so, again in theory, if enough people car pool, it speeds up traffic flow which will also beneficit the environment ( less cars idling away in gridlocked traffic jams ).

  4. In a 3 person carpool,   there is one car on the road taking up space and causing congestion,  instead  of  3.    This means only one car spewing emissions,   only one car going to need an oil change next weekend,  etc.

  5. Less Cars= Less Gas

    Less Cars= Less Traffic

  6. very little to nothing.

Here in Portland the car pool lane increase pollution due to all the slower traffic it creates in other lanes.

Car pooling and car pool lanes are a complete waste of money ,  time and resources.  They cause more pollution and more congestion.

    Any questions?
