To those who say that congress can't do anything about fuel prices: They sure as h**l said they could. You wouldn't be accusing them of lying now would you?

  1. ducky you are wrong.  GW lifted executive ban on offshore drilling. Now it is up to congress to go long with this. We are talking about the DO nothing congress so not get my hopes up too much.

  2. They should be coming up with real, long-term solutions like better public transit, more fuel-efficient cars and alternative sources of energy, not playing around with these publicity gimmicks like a tax holiday or drilling here and there.

  3. They will do nothing because they don't care they make enough

to afford $4.00 plus a gallon.

  4. Ducky nailed it

Offshore drilling will benefit noone but oil companies

  5. The price of oil is determined by OPEC, not Congress.  I'm a democrat who supports off shore drilling, however I don't think that Oil prices(even with drilling) will ever be as low as they once were due to how much oil we consume.

  6. the price of oil and gas is controlled by the Free Market

Congress and/or the President can't do a darn thing about gas prices anymore

(for decades the U.S. Government worked hard to keep the price of oil artificially Low)

    ---------------------

The U.S. is the worlds Third (3rd) largest petroleum producer,

though it has Only the 12th largest crude reserve.

think about that for a second.
