I'm following a transfer guide and it states *Both courses must be taken for course equivalency.

I understand I have to take both, but what does course equivalency mean in this context?

  1. Course equivalency means you need to take both classes to ensure they transfer to the equivalent class(es) in a different university/college.

  2. Im guessing its telling you whatever class you are trying to transfer is equivalent to two classes at your new school. Or vice versa, Im not sure. Its trying to say that for one class at old/new school, both courses must be taking at old/new school.

  3. When you look at the course description probably one course did not cover enough to be equal to the one you would like to be accepted, so you have to come up with another similar course which covers the rest of the course material. One course contains as much as two similar courses from another college.

For instance. College algebra includes 1.2.3.4. at one college, but College algebra includes only 1.2. at the other college and College Algebra 2 contains 3.4. I hope this makes it a bit more clear for you.
