  2. The United States is a Representative Republic, which means we all have a say, through our representatives or directly.  This is to help protect everyone from the "tyranny of the majority"

    "A Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what's for supper"

    Here is a site you should check out;

  3. Please note: in AMERICA right now ... we do NOT have Democracy  .. We have a REPUBLIC with representatives who are supposed to do the WILL OF THE PEOPLE.

    Pure Democracy like Pure Socialism is a fantasy .. can't be done, and if its tried, always crashes!

    We just need more accountability from the people who work for US.

    The President an VP are employees of WE THE PEOPLE

    they should start acting like it, or get fired & possibly arrested and prosecuted on CRIMINAL charges!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~...
    PLEASE ... this Nov. lets all vote for the NOT a Democrat and NOT a Republican!
  4. To quote Abe Lincoln, it is "government of the people, by the people, and for the people."
    To those who keep on yammering that "we aren't a democracy, we are a republic," I've got to say that I know the difference between the two, and I don't think that the difference is important. It is true that our federal government is purely a republic, which means that the voters of the nation do not make any laws at all, our elected lawmakers do that. But it is also true that our state governments are a blend of democracy and republic, insofaras the voters do sometimes make the laws themselves. But even accepting that there is a *slight* difference between a democracy and a republic, I still say that the difference is not important, and that both terms describe a system of government which is
    "Government of the people, by the people, and for the people."
  5. To be free to do, to think, to say whatever i want but without bothering or limiting the freedom of the others!
  6. A very fine question.....
    please permit me to say with examples...
    if it is a dictatoprship....  means   ''one  man''
    if it is a democracy.... means  ''a group of persons''
    so, democracy means  ''a group of persons''
    if a dictator  means...''no election'' or mandate from the people
    if it is a democracy...  ''elected representatives''  mandate from
                                        the people...
    if it is a dictatorship...   a single man will rob the country...
    if it is a democracy...
    imm.. it is nothing more and nothing less..than question above, but  the answer is more above... ok?
