  1. dont destroy the source of your wealth

  2. If you kill that goose, you aren't going to get any more golden eggs. A dead goose isn't going to lay any eggs, golden or otherwise.

    In general, it means if something is profitable, don't do anything to s***w it up.

  3. It's the same thing as "Don't bite the hand that feeds you". Or, "Don't burn your bridges behind you."

    They all mean that you should protect or be kind to the resources that you have..be it money, friendship, knowledge, security, love, etc, so they will always be there for you when you need them.

  4. it means to not be greedy;

    your goose lays you one golden egg a day and that's great

    but after a while its going to lose its novelty  and you want more. The saying says to be happy with what you have, not to let greed override your judgment and therefore make you kill the goose.

  5. its like dont s**t where you eat.... it means that you shouldnt destroy/kill the source of your income/golden goose....
