  2. Its a sandwich with TWO slices of bread instead of one piece folded in half. That is NOT a sandwich.

    Actually, it varies from definition to definition. I know it as when a pairing of dogs produce a litter of superb quality, the pair is bred again at a later time.

  3. Sometimes it can mean to "base" a bloodline on a particular individual in the pedigree. Say you have a great grandparent of a really really nice dog that you want to keep the qualities of in your pedigree, you find a mate for your dog that also has this fine great grandparent and breed the two, this is the basis for line breeding. If you do a "double on" breeding, you want to find a more distant relative within the pedigree, or a complete outcross with similar strengths to breed the pups from the "double" breeding to. This is a popular tool, in the right hands, to "set" a look in your bloodline.

    PS. Breeding the same pair of dogs twice is called a repeat breeding.
