  1. Single space means that the space between lines of text, is equal to the height of the text.

Double spacing increases the space to twice the text height! and is easily achieved in Word by clicking on the appropriate symbol on the Toolbar at top of the page!

  2. double-space (-spās′)

-·spaced′, -·spac′ing to type (copy) so as to leave a full space between lines

  3. Open word.

Go to Format, Paragragh, Line Spacing.

    Chose double space

  4. When you type it is normal to type in single spacing.  To use double

spacing means there is a blank line between every typed line. I have

done it in my answer to make it clear.

  5. skip 2 lines

  6. it means that there is more space between the lines of the paper, if you're using microsoft word, the option will be there for you under format. It will have a section for "line spacing" , select double spaced and there you go. Most teachers ask for this kind of spacing because it makes it easier to read, it's a less cluttered page.
