What does dreaming you are getting married mean?

I dreamed that I was getting married to my fiancee'. Everything in the service was beautiful and how it should be. Our daughter was older and everything. Nothing was wrong with the service. The only strange thing was my father whom I am very close with who is deceased was there. There were no tensions between us or anything.

I have heard that dreaming of marriage means a death? But what type of death? One inside my immediate, one that I knew about, or one that will come soon?

It often refers to feelings of bitterness, sorrow, or death.  Alternatively, wedding dreams reflect your issues about commitment and independence.  

To dream that you are getting married to your current spouse again, represents your wedded bliss and happiness. It highlights your strong commitment to each other. It may also signify a new phase (such as parenthood) that you are entering in your life.  

To see the dead in your dream, forewarns that you are being influenced by negative people and are hanging around the wrong crowd.  You may suffer material loss. This dream may also be a way for you to resolve your feelings with those who have passed on.

If you dream of a person who has died a long time ago, then it suggests that a current situation or relationship in you life resembles the quality of that deceased person. The dream may depict how you need to let this situation or relationship die and end it.

To see and talk with your dead parents in your dreams, represents your fears of losing them or your way of coping with the loss. You may want that last opportunity to say your final good-byes to them.

Last Friday morning I dreamed I was in a fairytale type wedding with a beautiful girl (no g/f or anyone I know).  It's the only time I've had a dream like that.  There was more to it I can't remember now, but I don't see what a marriage dream could have to do with death.  Pain and suffering maybe - LOL.

OK - I'll let you know if someone I know dies within 3 or 4 weeks. I will cr*p myself if it happens - I don't believe that.

Often dreams of marriage have to do with uniting your inner feminine and masculine sides.  It is not about death.  In order to be balanced, we need to honor both the masculine and feminine.

A dream of marriage does mean impending death.  My mother is a very spiritual and sensitive person and has had dreams of marriage throughout her life.  Her marriage dreams have come to mean that someone she knows on a personal level, whether its immediate family, co-worker, or friend, usually passes on within 3 weeks or so. My mother's dreams have always proven accurate and doesn't matter if she's the bride or guest in the dream.
