What does drinking chasers mean?

when drinking alcohol, what do people mean when they say they are going to do chasers?

a chaser is anything you drink after you drink hard liquor so you don't have to taste what you are drinking.

A chaser is something you follow a shot with. For tequila it's a lime (also has a starter- l**k of salt), for jack (or other low end whiskeys) it's a beer.

Like if you have some nasty tasting sh*t like 151, or R&R and you just can't handle the taste by itself, so you drink like soda or something after it to wash the taste down.

usually it will be a shot of  tequila with beer chasers.but it can be any combo you prefer.
