  1. an elector is someone who elects.

An elector, in the broadest sense, is someone who casts a vote in an election.  In America, the parlance generally used is "voter", as an  elector is considered to be a delegate who have the right to vote in the US Electoral College for the President of the United States.  However, apparently, in Australia, the term is more commonly applied to all voters:
