It means "emotional," which is kind of a misnomer, since there are all kinds of ways to be emotional, and this is just one of them.

Emo style is kind of like goth style, but a little cleaner and with a dash of hipster.

Edit: I think the guy below me is right, and it actually means "emotive". Doesn't change the fact that the genre produces some pretty mediocre music.

emotional. althought weirdos now use it for a label of people, even though its been a genre of music for a much longer period of time.

'emos' are said to cut, be depressed and suicidal, cry, and sometimes are guessed to be homosexual or bi.

emo i actly i kind of music started in like the 90's by sum band (i cant remember there name) but they all wor black and red and they where all bi. and it was depresing music so thats y people say they cut them selfs
