What does everybody here think of the religion jokes that you see on South Park, Family Guy and The Simpsons ?

I think they're incisive and hilarious. No religion is sacred to them, they've made fun of just about everyone. I think my favorite is the Woodland Animals' Christmas, lol.

i think the South Park Scientology episode was the funniest thing EVER... especially the fact that when you do research you find that it is all pretty much exactly what they believe..

Sometimes these shows take things a little far (especially south park), but it is so funny that I am willing to put up with it

I think a little satire can be fun.

I think its really sad, though, when people start believing shows like South Park as reality.  How many times on here have people said to watch South Park to find out what Mormons believe.  What kind of a person gets their actual info from South Park????

they are sometimes offensive but everybody needs to just learn how to get a sense of humor.

Some jokes are funny when they are totally stereotypical, but when they actually reach into blasphemy I get a little offended and stop watching.

For example, one Simpsons episode Homer mixed Mormons with Martians. I laughed so hard, and I'm a Mormon.

On the other hand, Family Guy has scenes depicting Jesus as a horrible individual. I get really offended, and I can't even stand watching it.

It just matters what the jokes are I guess.

I think they're pretty funny.  If you take offense at them you are taking yourself way too seriously and need to relax.  Yes religion is a serious matter but if you can't laugh at yourself there's something wrong.

And yes I make fun of Pagans and Heathens constantly, myself included.

I do not watch these shows because they aren't fit to watch!  And yes, I have watched them to see what they were like before I made this decision.  Only because I had two children and they both wanted to watch these shows and I didn't know anything about them.

They're jokes.  Humor is humor, it's meant to bring light to what amounts to a dark and suffering-filled existence.

Futurama's religious jokes, I think, trump those of even the Simpsons.
