Question:

What does everybody think about these abortion questions in the pregnancy section....?

The reason I am asking is I think it is very inconsiderate to ask these stupid questions in a room where their are women TTC, and that would love to have a child. Shouldn't these questions be asked in a different section?

  1. I agree it's in appropriate to ask about abortion in the TTC forum.


  2. Well, I don't judge those who do have abortions, but they CERTAINLY do NOT belong in the pregnancy section.  I think everyone can agree on that.  We need to complain to Yahoo, because it just seems that people talk about this all the time and nothing gets done.

    I would also like to propose creating a different section for women who have questions about whether or not they are pregnant.  It drives me nuts how many people ask questions about whether or not they are pregnant.  It needs to be separated from those who already know if they are pregnant.  

  3. Yeah, that's exactly right. There are so many people in that section who either have children, are expecting, or are desperatly trying to have children. I bet it's kinda offensive that people ask abortion questions in there.

  4. Since there is a completely separate section for TTC then there is nothing wrong with abortion questions under pregnancy.

    Edit-- If abortion questions were being asked in the Trying To Conceive section of YAHOO ANSWERS then yes it would be offensive, however we are not in the TTC section.

  5. Like it or not, abortion is a pregnancy-related subject.  I realize it's a heated topic, but you always have the option of not reading and responding to the questions about abortion if they offend you.

    I am TTC, and while we would certainly love to have another baby on the way, that is MY personal situation.  Not everyone who finds out they are pregnant is happy about it or ready to become a mother, and the fact that I am trying to have another baby is a completely different situation from someone faced with an unwanted pregnancy.

I don't want to come on here and try to find information about pregnancy or ask/answer pregnancy question but have to scroll past all these questions involving 13 year olds wanting abortions. Even if it was a 35 year old it would be the same. It irritates and offends me. They should post in the section titled "women's health"... At least i think they should.

    EDIT to the person further down: It's different when someone posts excited about getting a positive result and it's different when someone is TTC and cannot get pregnant or has a miscarriage. TOTALLY diffrent. I think it's quite ignorant for you to even TRY to compare someone losing their child to miscarriage TO someone opting to abort their UNWANTED child. BIG difference lady. HUGE! lol Seriously - "think about it". And if you are going to use this forum to argue pro-choice views then please be educated and not ignorant because you just make yourself and others who believe as you do look ignorant.

    That being said - Abortion is a medical procedure therefor should go into the "women's Health" forum OR have their own forum . However it isn't going to happen unless we complain to yahoo. Arguing among uneducated people who feel as if they are smart simply because they open their mouths will NOT help.

  7. I agree. It is very rude and immature of them... There are some women out there that can't even have kids.. then we have to hear about these immature, selfish ladies that kill the baby! It should be a different section. Like a section for "murder".

  9. Yes, abortion is a pregnancy related question, but I just don't think they should be asked in this section.  

  10. They are not stupid questions atleast i do not think. Hello you have to be pregnant to get an abortion so that is why it is in this section. Abortion belongs in this section. If you do not like questions about abortion then don't read them. It is that simple. Another thing why is adoption in this section? Shouldn't it be in the legal section?

    Don't it upset you that you are trying to get pregnant and to see all these people wanting to give theor babies up because they DO NOT want them??

    How is asking about abortion stupid? I have seen some really crazy ttc questions but i don't complain about them or answer them.

    Someone wanting or needing an abortion cannot help it if others cannot get pregnant or are trying to get pregnant.

    Do you think it is so stupid when someone says on here "Yay i got a positive" while others on here can't get pregnant or just had a miscarriage?

    Think about it....

    ADD: When you do ask a question about abortion it will automatically put it in the pregnancy section. I would say that the people that askes about abortion is wanting advise from others that have gone through it and what better place to ask then in this section??

    What other section do you think it is suppose to go in?

  11. I personally would post them Women's Health. I don't think they are about being pregnant; they're about a medical procedure.

    But as long as they're allowed here, hey, what can you do?
