Laid back life style and everyone is seeking the same thing, therefore there's no hassles. We have the top beaches and there's nothing like an Aussie Bar-B-Q.

We are really far away...so we sound exotic.  But most of us just consider ourselves really lucky to be Australian and live in Australia.  Without being arrogant about it. I think that it really comes across when people visit down under!  Aside from that we have a great cultural diversity and our land ranges from ancient rainforest (Tasmania), cosmopolitian cities (Melbourne), international icons (Sydney & it's harbour) and the great barrier reef to top it off.  If you haven't visited hope you find your way down under soon.

I think there are many reasons, part of it is that we're still seen as that slightly rough around the edges but basically harmless younger cousin by most countries. We're non threatening. Many people only know the stereotypes and the advertising we use to promote Australia as a relaxed beachy country with quirky wildlife and an amusing accent. Not to say we aren't all those things but we have a lot more to us than that and the rest of the world doesn't see our faults like they do for other more dominant countries.

we have our own language like: barbie, buggie smugglers, nippers, snags etc. and people form over seas thing that australia is all desert and that kangaroos live in our backyards. but also the culture. Here everyone is equal.

I think it is something you have to experience first hand to understand. I am not from Australia but I have traveled there, and it is spectacular.

The beaches, the beer, the sports...its all something different that makes it so awesome. All the Aussies I ran in too were very helpful and great down-to-earth people.

But like I said, if you want to answer your own question, you must go experience everything Australia has to offer.

Many people enjoy the diversity of Australia, Australia contains a diverse land with it's deserts and rainforest all on the same continent, this along with the Great Barrier Reef, the friendly people, different language, and the amazing opportunities offered there who wouldn't like Australia?
