What does everyone think about untested yet highly impressive Welter-weight, James Kirkland?

I like him a lot better than Gamboa.

There is a lot of stiff competition in that class, and there is plenty of talent that can step into the welterweight division and be a force.

Unfortunately,  I think he will lose quite badly when he steps into the ring with a Cotto - type fighter.

The upside is he is better than the other young welterweights, the downside is he is not in the same class as the current top tier.  He will have to wait 2 or 3 years before thinking about a title.
