going to recyclable energy within 10 years? Even though his own group stated that to make that a reality would cost in upwards of 3 TRILLION Dollars! Hmmmmmm I wonder where he proposes that we get that money from in order to make it happen? Could it be tax increases? This man is a fool and a liar that his been proven so time and time again.

But seriously what is everyones take on this?

  1. I think Gore is full of c**p and only wants attention.

  2. There is not enough wind and sunshine in the world to do what he blabbered about. If that stuff worked, why doesn't he run his castle on it? He is a big phony.

  3. i think that its the best environmental proposal yet, but i dont think itll get far. 3 trillion dollars is worth it, itll create so many jobs and the renewable energy field will make so much money the government shouldnt even be whining

  4. i think its good

  5. I never really paid any attention to much Gore said and the more I learned about him and his ideas the less I listened to the point I do not listen or consider anything he says at all now. The man is an old time charlatan and I think he got most of his con experience from Bill Clinton.

  6. Al Gore is in a fantasy land. He has zero credibility.

  7. From what I have heard about him they say he is one big d**k head... just repeating this from an American when I was over there.

  8. al gore rocks - after all he invented all our internets :)

  9. Actually, he was referring to *renewable* sources of electric energy, not recyclable, such as wind, water, solar.

Yes, it could cost that amount, from public and private money.  However, note that it would cost the same amount to build polluting power plants to satisfy *current* demand.

The bottom line goal is energy independence (with the added bonus of a cleaner environment).

Add:  Energy plants (of whatever kind) are going to have to continue to be built.  They are going to cost money.  For example, one nuclear power plant averages about $8 billion (that's billion with a "b") to build and maintain.  Are you OK with funding that?  And where do you suppose that money would come from?
