Question:

What does everyone think of a dedicated truck lane on I 70?

Its been proposed for a new lane for trucks only from STL to KC, but isnt this a little too late? Truck traffic is down due to diesel prices and the economy. In tighter times, is this really a good expense for the taxpayers?

  1. No, it's not a good idea. I've driven along I70 between KC and St. Louis many times. Once you get out of the KC metro area it isn't that bad. Once you approach St. Louis the interstate widens and there is enough room.

They just need  to tell the trucks that they can't use the far left lane when the road expands to 3 lanes or more.

  2. The way I look at that is the truckers pay high "Highway Use Taxes" each year on top of buying there tags and inspection.  Let them Truckers Role 10/4.  I know it's tough for all of us 4 wheelers but we can handle it.
