he's overrated. he's had a pretty good half a season, 5 wins is great, but he's also caused a lot of wrecks. i've never seen anyone spin out so much with no one around them, he doesn't demonstrate very much car control.

EDIT: i see best best answer is at it again, no one on here can make me roll my eyes like he can. he shows us a link to a sprint cup driver winning a truck race and we're supposed to be impressed. why don't you provide a link to barry bonds hitting against little league pitching while you're at it? most top drivers don't feel the need to go down and win a bunch of kiddie races to feel good about themselves. and as for his his argument of how kyle busch did better in the 5 car than casey mears has, all that proves is that he's better than casey mears. yeah, ok, who isn't? junior took over mears' cars and team from last year that consistantly ran at the back of the pack and he's 3rd in points with it, so? does that 'speak volumes' too?

oh, and terry labonte won a championship in that 5 car in 1996 pal, so how in the h**l do you figure it's never run well before? to call hendrick equipment mediocre just makes you sound stupid, but that's nothing new.

When he was in a car that had equal HP as Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson he was third best in that stable. Since Dale Jr has gone to Hendrick's team and is best now (according to points standings) then it would be safe to say that if Dale Jr had a Toyota (the horsepower advantage at least) then he would be ahead of Kyle too (better than Kyle).

In short I think he's just got Toyota's horsepower advantage and once NASCAR levels the playing field he will be back to the old Kyle he was at Hendrick's organization.

A fast car is intimidating no matter who is driving it.

I do not deny that he has great talent, but he does need to mature and learn to harness it.  He lets his emotions and drive to win run over his common sense and judgement.  He is doing a little better in controling his mouth.  I think he will be great as time goes on.

Just the fact that he races in the truck series for free to help get this team off the ground for his friends speaks volumes for the kind of person he is.

I'm kind of surprised that no one brought up his foundation.

I remember when they had the rained out race and Kyle was being interviewed and it was about to end, and he grabbed the mic from the reporter and was like wait wait wait and talked for a few minutes about his walk for some charity and cracked some jokes. People were saying after that interview... oh Kyle is so funny, who knew...

The only word I have for Kyle, a driver who goes out there and races his heart out every lap is AMAZING!!

I find him to be very disrespectful to the other drivers and NASCAR in general. You can have confidence in what you are doing, but you don't have to act like you are the only one that knows how to race.

I think that he is burning his candle at both ends trying to race all three series. But hey,enjoy it while you can!! It's cool how he can race so loose. He has a lot of talent and with maturity, he will become better in time. You have to admit, he is entertaining.

This is a loaded question!  He has talent, he can drive but his ego and attitude makes him not very likeable. You don't race with the attitude that you just wreck others to get them out of your way. He has no discipline or respect for anyone. There's a lot for him to learn.  =o`)

Ok, here's my answer.

First off, to the people that are trying to downplay his talent by saying he has so called extra horsepower, that's ridiculous. Watch this video from 2005 (Yeah that's a chevy, and yeah it's 2005, before many knew who he was) in Atlanta in a truck race where he came from 9th to 1st in 2 laps. How many drivers could do that IN ANY SERIES?:

Ok Kyle Busch has an insane amount of talent! More than anyone else in a long time, and yes more than Dale Jr. (duh). You don't pick up 11 or 12 wins already this season by just winging it on horsepower. It takes a great driver behind the wheel to be able to do that, because aren't there quite a few other Toyotas in the field that haven't done anything worth mentioning? Matter of fact Kyle is beating all the other manufacturers with his wins alone...maybe he just has a talent advantage.

Kyle is just an amazing driver. He loves to race and it's not about the money to him like it is for 95% of the other drivers. He even has won a late model race this season and I believe that one was in a chevy. Some people are just unwilling to admit how awesome this guy really is. He is so determined to win every race.

And to whoever said he was the third best at Hendrick, it's true, he had the third best equipment at the time. Right now, Casey Mears is getting the same stuff Kyle had last season and is probably 20 something in points, whereas Kyle finished 5th in points last season...not bad is it? Or did he have all that extra Chevy power last season when they were winning everything? To take that 5 car that has never ran well in a decade and put it in victory lane last season, as well as finishing in the top 5 in points with mediocre stuff speaks volumes.

I'm sure Joe Gibbs recognized this talent and now it's paying off in a big way. Give him the best of the best equipment and look what he has been able to do already. It just kills some people knowing that this supposed "smart alec, wreckless, crazy, bug-eyed, idiot" is the top driver in NASCAR right now and ahead of their driver.

You can knock on his attitude but don't knock his talent. He is just crazy good and now he has the perfect opportunity to prove himself, making Rick Hendrick look insane in the process.

There's no doubt the guy has driving talent. He demonstrated that at HMS and is doing it even bigger at Gibbs. He's fearless, finds the seams, and he doesn't back down. Even if what he says is completely outrageous, ya know he's telling the truth the way he sees it. He also has a sense of humor about being a "villain."

On the downside, I can't believe what comes out of his mouth sometimes. He's slow to take responsibility for things that are his fault, and he acts very self-absorbed. Very uncool not to even mention your brother's win in a post-race interview. He's not an especially nice guy- but that's his choice. I hope some Gibbs class rubs off on him. It might, it might not.

I am a Jr fan and some may think I should hate Kyle because of that. Sorry. He has talent and when you combine that with horsepower and teamwork you have a winning combination provided you have some luck as well. It just takes less luck when everything else is lined up right.

I heard last night a reference to weather he has any friends out there on the track. He made that bed. Given his age and level of maturity I can not expect anything more than what he displays out from behind the drivers seat. A great driver? maybe yes, an ambassador to the sport, I think not...
