What does factory second mean when talking about a kayak?

on ebay it will say factory second sometime, when describing a kayak. these kayaks are usually cheaper in price, so what is wrong with them

  1. it could be a blemish in the paint or the logo may not be up to the company specs


  2. "Factory second" usually means that there is some cosmetic flaw which precludes selling something at full list price.  The thing is probably structurally sound, and should serve.

  3. It means that there is a cosmetic problem, it does not look like new. They could not sell it if it were not sea worthy.
