  1. As other posters have stated /front Post. Here is a link to abbreviations for you.

  2. I have a tutorial on post stitches here

    http://www.crochetcabana.com/stitches/st...

Also, you might want to look at a video. Annie's Attic has one

    http://www.freepatterns.com/content/cont...

    As does Nexstitch

    http://www.nexstitch.com/v_front_back_po...

Also, check out YouTube. They have videos on just about everything though I haven't looked for this stitch particularly.

Basically, you wrap your hook around the post of the stitch on the previous row, working the required stitch at the same time.

Your pattern should specify which stitch to use - most common is fpDC. This is how you make it:

yo, insert hook from front to back around post of next st, yo and pull up a loop even with last st worked, and complete dc

If the rest of the project is all sc, then they probably want you to do a fpsc, so instead of working dc, just work sc as above.

  3. fp means front post.  I'm at work right now & can't get into how to do it, but try about.com for instructions.  There's fpsc, fpdc, fpdc ...  Also - bp is pack post.  They make ridges so it looks like cable stitch.  Good luck!

  4. fp means front post. Here's how to do it:
