Ghetto can mean poor, low class, trashy.

It also doesn't apply to one certain race, you can find a ghetto part of town almost anywhere.

But we should abolish class, it just hurts people.

It is ghetto. It has become associated with very poor and crime ridden areas of large cities. It didn't start as that. When the Jews were spread throughout the roman empire they became slaves. As time when on and Christianity took hold in Europe, the slavery of Jews was ended. They were able to live free, but were confined to certain areas of cities. These areas were known as ghettos. The Crusaders, when heading to the holy land would pass through European ghettos and slaughter the inhabitants. Hitler cleared the ghettos and sent Jewish inhabitants to the death camps. This is an infamous word and began in the united states as segregationist notion.

Its use should be abolished.
