What does getting lip mean?

My friend sent me a e-mail with that in it and I'm to embarrassed to ask what it means. Please help me!!

It means getting disrespected or back talked to (or you are the one whose back talking or disrespecting the other person).

The expression should be something like "Don't give me any lip." and means "I will not tolerate any backtalk from you!".  It is usually used when someone (older) is scolding someone (younger).

It depends how they used it. It can mean "talking back" or being a smartallic. That's how I usually hear it used. It could also mean getting someone to make out with them.
